This year, Cooly will rock with an incredible entertainment line-up featuring headline artist direct from the USA, Lance Lapinsky who is best known for his critically acclaimed portrayal of the piano rock pioneer, Jerry Lee Lewis in over 2000 performances at the Apollo Theatre.

The Texas-born entertainer learnt guitar at an early age however once he discovered Jerry Lee Lewis, piano eventually became his main instrument.  At a mere 17, he moved to Las Vegas which led Lance to become one of the world’s favourite tribute artists now at age 31 has toured Canada, Europe, Australia & Japan.

Joining the impressive entertainment line-up are Australian rock’ n ‘roll icon Lonnie Lee & the Leemen, Cooly Rocks On™ Ambassador, Issi Dye, and US guitarist Louie Shelton & band who has worked with some of the greatest acts of the 20th century from Ella Fitzgerald to Marvin Gaye, from James Brown and John Lennon to The Jackson Five.

There is a huge cast of rock ‘n’ roll & rockabilly bands , DJ’s and performers including the Koffin Rockers, Rockabilly duo;  Laurie & Shelly Minson, The Buddy Holly Show with Kris Knight,  Dennis Knight, popular Australian favourite Danny from the Deltones band and Festival Ambassador Issi Dye.

No longer simply a nostalgia festival celebrating the 50’s and 60s era, from 2018, Cooly Rocks On™ will become immersed in cars and culture up to and including the defining elements of the 70s.

There is so much to savour with a host of incredible enhancements and changes, making the event even more enticing such as hot rods and muscle cars, period specific race cars, a Billy Cart Grand Prix, Vintage Picnic and live music all set on stages, streets, parks and venues within the iconic Coolangatta and Tweed.

Whilst there are so many new pieces to Cooly Rocks On™, all the favourite elements are still there cementing the festival as a signature event in Queensland.

A festival favourite, the Miss Cooly Rocks On™ and Miss Rockabilly Pageants feature along with car cuises, the Cooly Rocks Street Parade, Poodle and Pug Parade, fireworks, kids rides and entertainment, market stalls and so much more
