Presented by
Cooly Rocks On’s own Battle of the Bands, giving school students a chance to showcase their talent and inspiring youth from the Southern Gold Coast and Northern Rivers district into a career in music.

The School of Rock coordinator Jake Maloney, a local dance teacher also well known for his local rock’n roll group Jake & the Cadillacs, came to his own success through a similar competition and is now a ‘man on mission’ seeking entries from the area’s major schools, to find the best talent.

Jake is accepting applicants between the ages of 10-18 years, in bands of up to six (6) members who are prepared to showcase three (3) songs from the Genres: Rock & Roll, Rockabilly or Swing

Once nominating for the competition, the young artists are set to compete in a live performance on the Greenmount stage presented by the Gold Coast Airport ltd on Thursday the 7th of June, 10am-3pm.

The winners are announced on the day & then set off to prepare for their Real Stage Performance: Saturday June 9 at 10:45am on the Greenmount stage infront of a large audience where they will be presented with the Winners prize of $1200 Cash for your School.

Judges in the competition consist of Izzi Osmonovic (Screaming Jets Guitarist) along with a Southern Cross Uni representative & a guest appearance.
