As one of Australia’s largest nostalgia festivals, Cooly Rocks On gathers tens of thousands of attendees eager to celebrate the motors, music and lifestyle of yesteryear. Delivered across five action-packed days in the iconic precinct of Coolangatta, the festival is cemented with a reputation for bringing people together and was awarded GOLD in the Major Festivals and Events category at the prestigious Queensland Tourism Awards in 2022. 

As we gear up for a massive festival this year from 5-9 June 2024, we want to ensure you are ready to provide our artists and attendees with an experience or offer they will never forget. To do this, we’ve put together our top tips on how you can leverage our captive audience at Cooly Rocks On to create positive outcomes for your business.

Pre-Festival

  • Remind your fans that Cooly Rocks On is coming in June! Use the official Cooly Rocks On Media Kit to access a range of digital assets, images and information that you can use to help market your business in the lead up to the festival. 
  • Give our fans a reason to stop by your business while they’re at the festival or on the Gold Coast. Announce that you will hold a promotion, giveaway or themed event – be creative. Just remember to tie your promotion back to the theme of the festival so that it appeals to the demographic attending. This will ensure your business experiences a positive economic return.
  • Be kept up to date on all the latest festival news by following Cooly Rocks On on Facebook and Instagram. See how our attendees are reacting to festival news and stay informed on the artist lineup, Show ‘N’ Shine news, Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest and more! During-Festival

  • Theme up! Get in the Cooly Rocks On spirit by decorating your business or encourage your staff to dress up in clothes inspired by the 50s, 60s and 70s.
  • Attract new customers by offering a promotion or discount during the festival. Our festival attendees love exploring the Coolangatta precinct, especially for those surprise and delight experiences. Create something that will catch their eye and attract them to your business.
  • Offer a festival-themed product. An example may be creating a Cooly Rocks On themed cocktail, tasting plate or dinner menu.
  • Hold a festival themed competition or giveaway. Use data collection to build your database and social media strategies to secure more followers.

Post-Festival

  • Create a promotion and develop an email or social media campaign to entice your new fans back to your business after the festival has ended.
