The countdown to Cooly Rocks On is well and truly on with the release of the 2023 festival program and app!
Returning to the iconic beachside precinct of Coolangatta from 7-11 June, the festival program demonstrates why there are plenty of reasons to make the pilgrimage this year! Check it out for yourself below.
1. OVER 900 CARS ON DISPLAY!
From Thursday 8 June, over 900 cars will be on display for the renowned Cooly Rocks On Show ‘N’ Shine. Wander through the streets to get up close to one of the country’s biggest collections of classic cars, customs, hot rods and more. The much-loved Saturday Night Car Cruise is also making a return this year, where festival-goers can witness these beautiful vehicles in action.
For the car owners that want to showcase their car further, there’s also two Car Runs to Balter Brewing or SEVEN82MOTORS with limited spots remaining!
2. FIVE STAGES WITH PERFORMANCES FROM INTERNATIONAL & HOME-GROWN TALENT!
The music will be pumping all five days long, with a list of high-profile international performers from Japan, Sweden, New Zealand, and the USA, including Pennsylvania-born Shawn Klush, who’s widely considered the best Elvis Tribute Artist in the world.
Swedish rockabilly trio The Go Getters, who have been performing together for more than 35 years, and are a household name around the world, will make their first appearance in Australia in more than a decade. Another first-timer to the festival is Japan’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Samurai Johnny Pandora and his band, who’ll be bringing their Japanese flavour Down Under on the free outdoor stages across the Cooly Rocks On precinct from Friday to Sunday.
With multiple stages and venues across the precinct including Greenmount Beach Surf Club and Coolangatta Sands Hotel, make sure to download the official app to start curating your personal schedule. You can favourite the artists you’d like to see and receive a reminder 15 minutes before their set begins so you don’t forget!
3. GO BACK IN TIME TO PARTY LIKE THE GOOD OL’ DAYS!
When there’s music there’s got to be dancing! Secure your tickets now to join in on the Cooly Rocks On Moonlight Swing Dance on Thursday 8 June, or wrap up the festivities at the all-new Beachside Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance on Sunday 11 June!
If you’re looking to spruce up your retro wardrobe, take some time to meander through the Nostalgia Markets along the beach. Another popular attraction gathering entrants from far afield as the USA is the Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant, where 12 finalists will be showing off their impressive talents, style and personality!
