The Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant is an opportunity for a diverse group of Pin-ups to showcase the differing lifestyles, cultures, fashions, hair and make-up of eras gone by, with a focus on the 1940’s through to the 1970’s.

Highlighting Pin-ups from all walks of life in 3 rounds, including ‘Day Wear’, ‘Uniqueness of You’ and ‘Evening Wear’, the Pin-up Pageant rounds will allow finalists to share their personalities on stage and to showcase their understanding of the lifestyles of yesteryear

Congratulations to our 2022 Cooly Rocks On Pin-Up Pageant title holders, Winner ‘Maizie May’ and Runner-Up ‘Mya Dia Monte’.

Meet Bettie Butcher (she/her), Australia’s ‘Hostess with the mostest,’ vintage stylist, mentor and all-round sweetheart.

This down to earth pinup from Meanjin (Brisbane) has over fourteen years’ experience in the industry and is recognised as one of Australia’s pinup icons with a heart of gold. It’s no wonder she’s in demand across the country, working with prestigious events including: The QLD, NSW and WA Hot Rod shows, Greazefest, The Australian Tattoo Expo, and Cooly Rocks On.

Bettie is proud to be charity liaison for the Pinups of Australia (PoA) community whose main goal is to make every pinup feel welcome, safe and supported. This is why PoA’s motto is #VintageVibesNotVintageValues (credited to Dandy Wellington) because modern pinups adore vintage inspired style balanced with progressive values. Bettie is also a passionate advocate for anti-bullying, striving to raise money and create awareness for charities such as Dolly’s Dream, Bully Zero and Beyond Blue.

Bettie’s been the Vintage Styling Tutor and Hair/Makeup Stylist at the Bombshell Burlesque Academy in Brisbane for ten years. Here, she uses her extensive experience as a pinup model to teach the finer points of vintage inspired hair/makeup, styling and confidence to the next generation of pinups.

A true ‘Bettie of all trades,’ she recently launched a clothing line, styling products and even creates digital art of Australian pinups. With a new project around every corner, you’ll never know what Bettie will get up to next!
