Always exuding uninhibited warmth, charisma and elegant charm, Miss Chrissy has dedicated her life to exploring the rich histories of early 20th century style. Whether it’s emceeing events, hosting vintage styling workshops, educating children about etiquette and self-worth, readying brides for their big day or working as a consultant on period productions – she executes each new endeavour with an honest respect for her vintage influences.

Australia’s ‘Hostess with the mostest’, vintage stylist, mentor and all-round sweetheart, Bettie Butcher is a down to earth Pin-up from Brisbane! As a charity liaison for the Pinups of Australia community, Bettie is a passionate advocate for #VintageVibesNotVintageValues and anti-bullying. A true ‘Bettie of all trades,’ she recently launched a clothing line, styling products and even creates digital art of Australian pinups!

The Cooly Rocks On 2023 Pin-up Pageant Winner Bunny Boulevard is back! A proud Chinese Australian, Bunny has always represented both cultures in her Pin-up style drawing inspiration from Audrey Hepburn. When she’s not at pageants, Bunny has been serving in the Royal Australian Air Force for the past 6 years or you can find her at home cookin’ up delicious foods!
SHELLEY MINSON
An avid 50s enthusiast, Shelley Minson has been dressing in vintage inspired style for a number of years, whether it’s in her every day life or on stage when she’s rockin’ it out with her husband. Having been featured in various retro magazines for her Pin-up style, we can’t wait to have Shelly as part of the judging panel for the 2024 Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant!
VIOLET DEVILLE
A captivating presence in the Pin-up community, Violet Deville has fast become one of Australia’s primary Pin-ups. Frequently collaborating with renowned photographers, Violet’s distinctive alternative rockabilly style has landed her on numerous Pin-up magazines and judging panels and we can’t wait to welcome her to Cooly Rocks On!

The Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant is a blend of the ‘Classic’ and ‘Rockabilly’ Pageants that you have come to know and love at Cooly Rocks On over the years. The Pageant is an opportunity for a diverse group of Pin-ups to showcase the timeless fashions, looks and lifestyle of yesteryear, with a focus on the 1940’s through to the 1970’s.
Pageant Ambassadors have been engaged to ensure all applicants and finalists have an authentic, fun and supportive Pageant experience. Your 2024 Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant Ambassadors are Bettie Butcher and Miss Chrissy, both experienced Pin-ups, these ladies will be there to support you every step of the way!
If you are interested in getting involved in the Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant, there are many roles that we are looking to fill annually and are listed below:

Entry to watch the Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant is free, seats will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Our Pin-up Pageant Winners absolutely love prizes! If you wish to provide prizes for our winners, please provide all relevant details to [email protected]. Please note that we have multiple sponsors and event partners that have rights and benefits across the festival, and for this reason we are unable to acknowledge your contribution during the Pin-up Pageant.
Applications will open for the 2024 Cooly Rocks On Pin-Up Pageant closer to the festival dates. Twelve finalists will then be chosen to compete at the festival held from 5 – 9 June, 2024.
The Pin-up Pageant venue entrance will include a ramp to cater to accessibility needs. However, due to stage infrastructure, accessibility onto the stage is restricted. Cooly Rocks On will provide a designated performance area in front of the stage to cater for finalists with accessibility needs.
Finalists are selected based on a series of selection criteria including:
- How connected the applicant is to the Cooly Rocks On pillars of motors, music and lifestyle
- How well the applicant expresses their knowledge of the pin-up culture and history
- How well the applicant presents themselves (hair, makeup, attire and poise)
- How well the applicant expresses and represents the modern-day values in which the Pin-up Pageant promotes
There will be prizes awarded to the Pageant Winner, Runner-Up and Most Entertaining Awards. More details listed below!
