Celebrating the motors, music and lifestyle of yesteryear, Cooly Rocks On is Australia’s largest nostalgia festival. A signature event on Queensland’s event calendar, the festival attracts thousands of visitors each year for an annual June pilgrimage of yesteryear. Cooly Rocks On is the perfect festival to show off your prized possession!
The 2023 Show ‘N’ Shine will showcase hundreds of cars throughout the beautiful Coolangatta precinct, with two display options:
1. Early Bird Show ‘N’ Shine – Thursday and Friday
2. Weekend Show ‘N’ Shine – Saturday and Sunday
The 2023 Show ‘N’ Shine will open to vehicles manufactured prior to and including 1979, featuring classic cars, hot rods, and more.
Plus, Cooly Rocks On has received an Australian Street Rod Federation approved travel concession for 2023 (travel permit number TC 286-01-2023)*, which allows all concessionally registered hot rods to travel directly to and from Cooly Rocks On, allowing us to showcase an even wider range of incredible vehicles! Early Bird Show ‘N’ Shine
Back for its second year, the Early Bird Show ’N’ Shine will see an exclusive zone open up for cars across Thursday 8 and Friday 9 June at the Greenmount Car Park. This is an opportunity for those die-hard car enthusiasts who are eager to start their engines early to secure a guaranteed spot across the two days to showcase their vehicle front and centre to festival fans.
This year, between 10:30AM – 11:30AM* and 1:30PM – 2:30 PM*, participants will have the opportunity to drive through the Coolangatta precinct to show off their pride and joy without losing their car spot! Vehicles will need to park-up in the Early Bird Show ‘N’ Shine Zone between 7am – 8am and will be exited at 4pm.

WEEKEND SHOW ‘N’ SHINE
Arguably the highlight of the festival, the two-day showcase on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June will span across seven zones, covering nearly two kilometres of the festival precinct with over 900 cars. From classics, customs, hot rods and more, you’re sure to see it all at Cooly Rocks On.

Show ‘n’ Shine faqs
The 2023 Show ‘N’ Shine will be open to vehicles manufactured prior to and including 1979, featuring classic cars, hot rods, customs and more.
The entry fee for the Saturday and Sunday Show ‘N’ Shine is $80 plus booking fee ($84.40) and the Thursday and Friday Early Bird Show ‘N’ Shine is $50 plus booking fee ($53.80).

No! Your motor vehicle does not need to be road registered for the Show ‘N’ Shine display. Cooly Rocks On has received an Australian Street Rod Federation approved travel concession for 2023 (travel permit number TC 286-01-2023)*, which allows all concessionally registered hot rods to travel directly to and from Cooly Rocks On. Please note the travel concession only applies for Show ‘N’ Shine and not any other car events at Cooly Rocks On.
Prior to the event you will be sent a Show ‘N’ Shine Entrant manual via email that will detail all information you need to know about Cooly Rocks On including how to access your allocated zone.
Yes! If you need to change the vehicle you are displaying, please email [email protected] with updated details including your name, current registration number and new registration number.
Yes, however in order to be situated next to your friend you will need to arrive to bump in at the same time as spaces will be allocated based on order of entry into the allocated zones. We recommend meeting up prior to arriving at the designated bump in locations.
Show ‘N’ Shine bookings can only be booked online (once on sale). No bookings can be made in person, via email or telephone.

No. When entering your booked zone, vehicles will be allocated parking spaces in a sequence as directed by Show ‘N’ Shine Marshals, you cannot pick your own space. If you would like to park with your friends or family, please ensure you enter the zone together during the allocated zone entry times as per the Show ‘N’ Shine Entrant Manual.
Yes! You can book up to 8 spaces in a single booking. There is no limit on the number of spaces you book, however you can only reserve up to 8 at a time.
All Show ‘N’ Shine bookings will need to be paid in full at the time of booking on Oztix with a credit card. Cash and bank transfers will not be accepted.

Cooly Rocks On works closely with a variety of Australian car clubs including Fresh Stylz Lowrider Club, Rambler Rebels, Kustoms of Australia, S.C.A.R.A.B, Austin Healey Owners Club of Queensland, Studebaker Car Club of Queensland Inc, Beatniks Koolsville and more. The inclusions of car clubs accounts for approximately 30% of spaces within the 2023 Show ‘N’ Shine, these clubs are strategically placed throughout the festival by the Cooly Rocks On team to create the best festival experience for our attendees.
Cooly Rocks On Show ‘N’ Shine Entrants will have the opportunity to purchase an exclusive, limited edition 2023 Entrant t-shirt. The t-shirt can be pre-ordered online when booking your Show ‘N’ Shine ticket or can be purchased from the official merchandise facility at the Festival. Please note, limited stock will be available at the Festival, therefore we recommend pre-ordering your t-shirt online to avoid disappointment. If you wish to purchase your t-shirt at the Festival, you will be required to present your 2023 Show ‘N’ Shine ticket at the official merchandise facility.
