Welcome to Cooly Rocks On 2023

Message from the Mayor of the City of Gold Coast Tom Tate
When an event attracts 136,000 happy patrons, it’s a safe bet you’re on to a winner.
That’s the record attendance number for last year’s Cooly Rocks On festival and I’m quietly confident we will eclipse that number in 2023 given the incredible line-up of talent.
Swedish super group The Go Getters will be one of the headliners in an amazing five-day festival featuring acts from Japan, New Zealand, the USA and our own homegrown talent.
Visitors can enjoy the streetscape at Cooly, lined with classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, custom vehicles, and more, as well as an unforgettable tribute to Elvis Tribute as part of the festival.
Cooly Rocks On symbolises that our city has the capacity and drive to host the biggest family events on offer.
I applaud Major Events Gold Coast and Tourism and Events Queensland for creating this classic beachside celebration of yesteryear.
It’s time to make a date with The King and get down to Coolangatta for to celebrate the motors, music and lifestyle of yesteryear at Cooly Rocks On 2023.

Message from the Minister for Tourism, Innovation and Sport and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics and Paralympics Sport and Engagement. The Hon. Stirling Hinchliffe MP
Welcome to Cooly Rocks On, a highlight on the It’s Live in Queensland events calendar and a wonderful opportunity to showcase Gold Coast as a tourism destination.
The Gold Coast community is grateful to welcome visitors who fill their cafes and restaurants, stay in their accommodation, use local transport and explore our unique tourism experiences.
That’s why we support events through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Destination Events Program because they bring a welcomed boost to the local community and supports local jobs.
Events like the Cooly Rocks On allows friends and family to reconnect and creates community pride. We hope you enjoy your stay and return again in the near future.
Be sure to immerse yourself in the local culture and get the opportunity to explore some of our world-class tourism experiences in this beautiful region.
Congratulations to the event organisers and volunteers – we wish you all the best for a successful event.

Message from Major Events Gold Coast CEO Jan McCormick
2022 was a big year for Cooly Rocks On, we welcomed a record crowd of more than 136,000 visitors and won Gold in the Major Festivals and Events category at the prestigious Queensland Tourism Awards.
It’s going to be hard to top last year but looking at our new program of incredible international artists and the take up of tickets for our Elvis Precinct shows and the highly anticipated Show ‘N’ Shine, 2023 looks like it will be bigger and better than ever!
Cooly Rocks On has grown into the largest nostalgia festival of its kind in Australia, and our fans come from right across the country and the globe to participate in, and enjoy, this unique festival.
Once again we’ll be celebrating the motors, music and lifestyle of yesteryear with not-to-be missed performances, including a special show from the artist voted the world’s best Elvis Tribute Artist – the USA’s Shawn Klush.
Apart from plenty of hip swinging rock n’ roll and some of the best tribute artists in the country, there’ll be beachside markets, dancing, the Cooly Rocks On Pin-up Pageant, and of course one of the biggest collections of classic cars in Australia.
A lot of work goes into putting this five-day festival together and we couldn’t do it without the support of the City of the Gold Coast and Tourism and Events Queensland, as well as our Cooly Rocks On sponsor family.
As always, we also want to say a huge thank you to the Cooly community for continuing to support the festival. This iconic beachside destination and its people are what makes Cooly Rocks On such a special experience. If you haven’t visited this festival before, join us from 7-11 June for some family-friendly fun, winter sunshine, great music and an incredible display of cars. We can’t wait to see you all there!
